Safety First Driving School conducts the Department of Licensing Knowledge test to get your permit and the Department of Licensing Skills test to get your license.
The Department of Licensing Knowledge test is $25. If you must come back to take it a second time, it only costs $15. We offer the test in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, Japanese, and now in Ahmaric with a translator. Once you pass the Knowledge test, you get your permit.
The Department of Licensing Skills test is $60 and is conducted in our safety-enhanced vehicles, or you may use your own vehicle*. You must have either a valid Washington State Learner’s Permit, a valid international driver’s license, or an official Temporary Authorization form; to take the Department of Licensing Skills test.
*You may use your own vehicle to test if the vehicle is in proper working condition that includes: brake and signal lights, seat belts, wipers, heater and defrosting system, a windshield with no chips or cracks in the line of vision, good tires, license plates on the front and back with current tabs, and a valid insurance card.
